Trading between players is allowed and encouraged. Items, food, gold, Crafting points and equipment are tradable. Troops and NPCs are as well, but was something I was on the fence about. But I thought it fit in the world because slavery and the slave trade is a thing that exists.

Excellent! I will control this economy as well!
Could you explain duel tactics checks to me? I figure a higher check number means the tactic is harder to pull off successfully.
If that is the case why is does dodge seem better than parry?
Dodge is cheaper ap wise, costs opponent ap and isnt behind a skill.
Parry is worse in every regard

That is correct. With Parry you also get to deliver an attack, while Dodge you do not. That was meant to be the balancing

During personal turns and/or kingdom turns. The recruit Npc action is random from the list? Or can you choose who to target?
Is there a procedure to decide who succeeds if multiple people attempt to recruit the same NPC?

Is there a procedure to decide who succeeds if multiple people attempt to recruit the same NPC? You choose who to target from the free officer list if you are using Recruit NPC. The procedure for multiple people attempting to recruit the same NPC goes based off of who ends up with the higher roll overall, and if there's a toe it goes based off of who has the higher Charisma.

Is the pre-game going to affect the main game in any way? Will we keep the same chars, etc if we like?

"Combat is done by a character attacking or using a tactic on an enemy character. For most tactics and all normal attacks, the enemy will receive a counter attack. The amount of damage done with attacks is determined by the Leadership and Strength stats, along with the damage die rolled. The value of the damage die is determined by the troop type the unit is commanding. For every 25 soldiers a unit is commanding, an additional damage die is added. Counter attacks are calculated from the opponent’s starting troop numbers."
To clarify.
Counter attacks do the same damage as a regular attack?
Counter attacks are calculated from opponent starting numbers? I'm guessing it's numbers pre damage and not starting battle numbers. Or else you are better off waiting to get hit vs taking the initiative and attacking.
Is there a reason for making counter attacks so powerful? It feels like you should be rewarded for getting the first hit.

I believe main game will reference back to pregame, but it will have no true affect on main game other than RP. At this time, you will be allowed to keep the same characters if you want, however that could change if there are several rule changes that directly affect character builds.

Characters will continue over if there are no major rule changes and if you desire to keep the character.
Counter attacks do damage based on the starting troop number at the time of the attack. So if I got hit for 27 damage and had 50 troops. I would hit back as though I had 50 and not 23.

Thank you, and just for character planning sake -- What year will the pregame and the main game take place in?

Academy (70) - Increases the amount of SP gained by .5 and PTD by 1 every four turns.
UPGRADING NPCS
Every three in-game months (when incomes are collected), a ruler is given a pool of PTD and SP to distribute among their NPCs. 2 PTD per NPC and .5 SP per NPC (rounded down). Effects are immediate and will affect that months Kingdom Turn.
taken from the kingdom turn rules how does the above affect NPC followers of PCs? what if the PC of the follower is not the ruler? unrelated to the above: 1) i assume the PC and NPC follower would share a same pool of resources? 2) exp obtained from battles? 3) are catapults considered a "special| unit type or is it considered a range unit type?

I realized I do not have many rules up regarding NPCs and troops under PCs. They still receive a boost at the same time kingdom NPCs are upgraded. Also 1. Yes, they do 2. Exp obtained from battles depends on what tactics are used. Otherwise you receive 10 exp for each stat every game turn spent in battle. 3. They are considered a Siege Unit type
